Societie Group venues are taking a stand against domestic and family violence

Societie Group venues are taking a visible and unified stand against domestic and family violence, supporting the ClubsNSW “Say No to Domestic Violence – Purple Friday” initiative as part of a broader Domestic Violence Action Plan.

Across all venues, staff are wearing purple pins throughout May, signalling a clear and consistent commitment to respect, safety, and support for those impacted by domestic and family violence. The initiative reflects a growing focus across the club industry on embedding awareness and action into everyday operations.

At Ramsgate RSL, the campaign has been further strengthened through a collective staff activation, with team members contributing signed purple handprints to create a unified visual display. The installation serves as a tangible representation of individual pledges coming together to reinforce a shared message of support.

With domestic and family violence affecting one in four women, initiatives such as Purple Friday continue to highlight the important role clubs play in fostering safe and inclusive environments. By making support visible and encouraging open conversations, venues are helping to break down stigma and ensure that patrons and staff alike feel supported.

Societie Group’s approach demonstrates how industry operators can move beyond awareness, embedding meaningful action and visible leadership into their community engagement strategies, and reinforcing the role of clubs as safe, supportive spaces within their local communities.
