Employee DFV Information Session Perfect for staff meetings or internal engagement sessions, this flexible information session introduces key concepts, raises awareness and begins important conversations about DFV into your workplace. Sessions are tailored to your time and needs.

2-Hour Workplace DFV Training Session A focused program designed to help employees understand how DFV can show up in workplace settings, how to respond safely and respectfully, and how to support someone who may be experiencing violence. Staff leave with clear, practical guidance grounded in compassion and best practice.

Club Industry DFV Training Workshop (1-day) Delivered within your local community, this workshop brings together clubs and community organisations to strengthen local capability. ClubsNSW will support coordination of guest speakers and connect you with relevant DFV sector representatives in your area. These workshops help clubs build a shared, community-wide response to DFV.

Domestic Violence Action Plan Support For clubs wanting to formalise their response, we offer hands-on support to develop a tailored Domestic Violence Action Plan. This includes creating a clear framework, policies and practical procedures that align with best-practice support for victim-survivors and staff.

OUR WATCH INSTITUTE

The Our Watch Institute is Australia’s specialist provider of workplace-focused training aimed at preventing violence against women. As an initiative of Our Watch, Australia's national leader in primary prevention, the Institute offers evidence-based, expert-led training designed to help organisations address the gendered drivers of violence and embed long-term cultural change The Our Watch Institute partners with workplaces across Australia to deliver tailored training, tools and consulting that build the capability to prevent gender-based violence. Their programs help organisations understand how gender inequality drives violence, identify structural and cultural factors that enable harmful behaviours, and strengthen internal policies and practices to support gender equality, while equipping leaders and staff to champion long-term, positive change across their workplace and community Key Offerings Include:
  • Workplace Training & Consulting Expert-led sessions that educate teams on primary prevention, support leaders to identify organisational risks and opportunities, and guide workplaces through the steps needed to reduce gender inequality.
  • Primary Prevention Introduction Sessions Short, accessible presentations introducing Change the Story, Australia’s national framework for preventing violence against women. These sessions provide a high-level understanding of key concepts and practical starting points.
  • Sector-specific and Community Training The Institute also offers free online and face-to-face sessions for specific sectors (e.g., sport), helping staff apply prevention principles in their local contexts.

WHITE RIBBON

White Ribbon Workplace Training White Ribbon Australia offers a suite of tailored training programs designed to help organisations prevent violence against women and strengthen safe, respectful workplace cultures. Their training provides staff and leaders with the knowledge, skills and practical tools to recognise, respond to, and prevent domestic and family violence (DFV) in workplace settings. White Ribbon delivers four core training options, available both in-person and online to suit different organisational needs:
  • Lunchbox Session (45 minutes) – An accessible introduction for large groups, covering why DFV happens, how to spot warning signs in colleagues, and how to safely refer someone for support. Suitable for all staff.
  • DFV Awareness Training (2 hours) – An interactive session building capability to recognise warning signs and respond safely to disclosures. Suitable for all staff.
  • Advanced DFV Response Training (3 hours) – Designed for managers, HR teams and workplace champions who may handle disclosures, focusing on safe response practices and structured support pathways. In-person only.
  • Executive Leadership DFV Training (1 hour) – Tailored for senior leaders, covering organisational obligations, the broader impact of DFV in workplaces, and how leaders can drive preventative, psychologically safe environments.
All programs are developed by subject-matter experts and delivered flexibly to meet organisational needs, supporting workplaces to build long-term, preventative approaches to ending violence against women

LIFELINE

Lifeline – Domestic & Family Violence Training (Workplace & Community Training) Lifeline provides a range of virtual and face-to-face DFV training options designed to build foundational awareness, practical skills and organisational resilience. Their programs are evidence-informed, interactive, and built on decades of experience supporting mental health and crisis response. DFV Training Options Lifeline’s DFV offerings sit within their broader Workplace & Community Training suite and provide an accessible introduction for organisations wanting to better understand and respond to domestic and family violence. Courses cover the different types of abuse, how to recognise early warning signs, and what safe, appropriate responses look like. Courses include:
  • Introduction to Domestic and Family Violence (Workshop & eLearning) A foundational program that explains what DFV is, different forms of abuse, and how to identify signs of risk. Participants learn what to do — and what not to do — when concerned someone may be experiencing DFV.
Training Approach All Lifeline programs are designed using the Recognise, Respond, Refer framework — helping participants understand how to identify DFV, how to respond safely and empathetically, and where to direct someone for further support. Training is available both online and in person, offering flexible delivery for clubs, workplaces and community groups.

DV-ALERT DFV RESPONSE TRAINING

DV-alert Training DV-alert is a free, nationally recognised training program designed to help frontline workers and community members recognise, respond to, and refer people experiencing domestic and family violence. Delivered by Lifeline Australia and funded by the Australian Government, the program provides practical, skills-based learning across multiple formats. What the training includes
  • Foundations Workshops (2 days) In-person training for frontline workers covering how to Recognise signs of DFV, Respond safely, and Refer to appropriate support services. Free for eligible participants.
  • Focused Workshops (1 day) Topic-specific sessions that deepen understanding of DFV in different communities, including First Nations, Multicultural communities, Women with Disability, Men Who Use Violence, and Gendered Violence in Diverse Communities.
  • eLearning Options Accredited online modules for frontline workers, plus standalone learning for those wanting flexibility while still building core Recognise-Respond-Refer skills.
  • DV-aware Sessions (2-hour or 1-day) Introductory workshops open to the general public, providing basic awareness of DFV, early warning signs, and what actions can support someone safely. Free to attend.
