Creating safer communities means investing in prevention as well as support. During May, Societie Group took important steps towards fostering long-term cultural change by partnering with community organisations to deliver education programs that empower young people with the knowledge and skills to build respectful relationships.
In partnership with Ramsgate RSL and NSW Women’s Community Shelters, planning commenced for the Walk the Talk program, an initiative that will deliver respectful relationship education to Year 10 and Year 11 students. The program is designed to encourage open conversations about respect, healthy relationships and personal responsibility, while equipping young people with practical tools to recognise unhealthy behaviours and build positive connections.
More than a classroom presentation, Walk the Talk aims to inspire ongoing participation and engagement, encouraging students to continue these important conversations with their peers, families and communities. By creating opportunities for young people to reflect, ask questions and challenge harmful attitudes, the program seeks to support lasting cultural change.
Planning also began with The Family Co to deliver respectful relationship and consent education programs for senior secondary students across the Sutherland Shire. These sessions will provide students with a deeper understanding of consent, communication, personal boundaries and respectful behaviours, helping them navigate relationships with confidence and respect.
These initiatives reflect Societie Group’s commitment to working alongside trusted community partners to create meaningful, long-term impact. By investing in education and prevention, we are helping to build stronger, safer and more connected communities where respect and equality are at the heart of every relationship.
